Looking outside today it's not hard to guess what the prediction may be. "We come from the land of ice and snow..." Let's assume because we are int eh great White North that it'll be time to stay inside the studio and work a while longer. There are a couple things of note this issue, read below:

This past Monday, during the first Rise and Draw session of 2025 we took a little time to celebrate John Wester's 80th Birthday. Bunny was fortunate enough to be commissioned to do John's portrait.
John the "oldest" student at the atelier he's the oldest in a sense that he has been studying here since first opening. He may be the oldest but he certainly isn't the most mature of any of us. He is a delight to have in the class my only complaint is it is too bad he stopped listening years ago. lol. Thats a joke if you now him. John is always quick with wit, a hilarious quip or punny pun it is an honour to know the man and be able to celebrate his 8th decade while we draw.
Bunny spent a light night before the Monday Rise & Draw session making a fudgey brownie topped in a tiramisu following a 10 day fast. Below are some pics so you know what you may have missed out on.
Tabitha is heading off to San Diego. We loose more good models to that city than we should. What does San Diego have that we don't?! Other thank the beaches, the weather.... Never mind, they don't need a groundhog down there.
We have been very fortunate to work a lot with her this past season and look forward to he return in Spring or summer..... maybe?!
Tabitha always brought her own brand of creativity to the stand and often an amazing loaf of home made sourdough.
She will be modelling for us one last time this Monday morning Feb. 3 - 9:30 - 12:30 at Rise & Draw, so that may be your last chance. Bundle up, get out of the house and get drawing.
John Ross is one of our regular drop in participants. If you have been following his Instagram( https://www.instagram.com/johnyayart/ ) you will see that he spent an entire year drawing everyday and will be showing the collection February 7th for one night only. I don't get out much but I recommend you join me, I'm making the effort to support John, so I'll be there, I got my ticket, you can get yours here: https://my.cheddarup.com/c/art365

Finally, I was surprised to get a wonderful review on Google after after a private class I held. Everything helps.
I'm just one fella running this place. I dont have a budget for marketing. this place runs on your kind words and word of mouth mainly. I mainly use this newsletter. I make little posts on instagram to send to facebook and thats the jist of the marketing strategy insofar.
Most people search on google and it would be really helpful for those searching for art classes online if there were more google reviews. It would mean the world to me, if you feel kind and compelled to go to google, search up our website "Atelier Artista" and leave a glowing review, but no pressure. Thank you in advance.
Thats it for now, see you in class.
