Youth course & Summer Camp PARENT MANUAL
Welcome to Atelier Artista youth and summer camp programs
We are a skills based art school located in cSPACE in Marda Loop. We aim to provided creative and skill building and camps to youth in our beautiful classroom in cSPACE King Edward. We aim to provide a creative learning space in order to foster observational and technical art skills to youth. Though activities are playful and experimental we hope to give your child a slid foundation of skill in creative and representational art making. Please take some time to read through the following pages with your participant(s). This manual will help you and your child better understand our camps and policies.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
If your child’s course is canceled, you may transfer to another course or receive a full refund.
To be eligible for a refund, written withdrawal from a course must be received no later than 4 business days before the course start date (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory Holidays). Written withdrawals received less than 4 days are not eligible for a refund. Refund requests may be submitted via email to atelierartistayyc@gmail.com, camp name, start and end date, full legal name, and phone number. All withdrawal refunds are subject to an administration fee of 10% and can take up to two weeks to process.
Sign-in and Sign-out/ Attendance Policies:
First-day sign- in:

Have all of your participants waiver forms completed, signed and printed and bring with you on your first day of camp.

Arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for the first day of the camp. Please have your camper(s) signed in BEFORE 9:00 a.m. on all other days.
• Parking for drop off and pick up is free in the lot and all around cSPACE
Absences and Late Arrivals:
Please inform us if your child will be absent or arriving late for camp via email atelierartistayyc@gmail.com or by phone 403-383-1200.
Late pick up After Care:
• We are able to provides additional late pick up care for an additional fee of $25 per participant

After Care/ Late pick up: 5:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Late Fees for Late Pick Up:
You will be charged $5.00 for every 15 minutes (or portion thereof) you are later than 5:30 p.m. Please keep in mind that a staff member is required to stay late should you be late.
Participant Pick Up:
• Please pick up your child between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED TO SIGN YOUR CAMPER OUT.

Sign beside your child’s name to show you have picked your child up.
Note:
Your child may NOT sign themselves out until they are 12 years of age. Your child MUST stay in the designated area until a legal parent/guardian/consented person over the age of 12 is able to provide identification and a sign-out signature.
Early Pick-Up:
Please inform us directly of via email email atelierartistayyc@gmail.com if you plan to pick-up your child early (include participants first name, last name) We would appreciate 24 hours notice if you plan to pick-up your child early.
Lost and Found items:
Lost and found items will be cleared at the end of every week. Please make sure to check for items before the end of the week. Items that are not claimed will be donated to local charity.
Illness:
• If your child becomes ill during camp you will be notified by a staff member.

Based on the circumstance you will be asked to pick your child up as soon as possible
Medications:
• Should your child require medication (over the counter or prescription) please ensure the medication is in its original bottle.
• Write the child’s name on the bottle.
• Your child MUST be able to administer the medication themselves as staff are
not trained to administer or dispense medication.
Discipline Policy:
At Atelier Artista, we want to resolve any conflicts and keep your child involved in the activities whenever possible. On occasion, it may be necessary to give a participant time away from their activity. In this situation, you will be notified at the end of the day.
If the behaviour persists and conflicts cannot be resolved, or the situation is severe you will be contacted immediately and an incident report will be written.
If the behaviour(s) continue, your child will be removed from the program and you will be contacted and asked to pick-up your child immediately. If you are not available to pick up your child, your emergency contact will be asked to come as we do not have the staff for one-on- one supervision.
Atelier Artista is an inclusive environment, behaviour that will result in removal of a camper from the program include:
1. Bullying
2. Prejudice of any kind
3. Racism
4. Violence causing harm
**We expect parents and guardians to treat staff and participants with respect. Failure to follow this policy will result in your child being expelled from Atelier Artista without a refund.
